The San Diego Badminton Club offers coaching 'by appointment'. This is a free service provided to members only for 4 sessions. Our coaches work on a volunteer basis. We offer 4 sessions and after that it is between you and the coach in terms of arrangement for private lessons. Private lessons cannot take place during SDBC court time.
We use the Canadian Handbook, which has been adopted by the USA Badminton during the interim as they develop a program of their own.
Kyle Emerick, and Phil Gonsalves coach , it is best to always check with them for meeting times and availability. Generally Kyle meets on Tuesdays from 4:00 - 5:30 PM but check with him to start your program. Phil arranges by appointment only.

SDBC is also sponsoring an elite junior program headed by club member Son Nguyen. They meet on Thursday & Friday evenings from 5-8. Contact You do not need to be an elite player, but have potential. For a try out contact Son Nguyen (aobakysn@yahoo.com)
Local Colleges have badminton classes and teams and are a good source of learning about badminton.
