Ali Viettry
I was elected to be a board officer the previous term and I have performed, to the best of my ability, to provide the club with ideas promoting our community and badminton. As part of my association and major involvement with the SDBC junior program, I have efficiently exchanged information between the board and the program. My involvement in both entities provides smooth communication that will benefit our community and also help promote our club wherever we may go. I am ready to continue my commitment to the SDBC and badminton community. So I ask for you vote to allow me to continue to do so.

San Diego Badminton Club is fortunate to play in one of the best public badminton facilities in the region, thanks to the efforts of many people over many years. We are challenged to serve a wide diversity of players of all ages, backgrounds and abilities while promoting the sport we love. We have achieved a lot in the past few years in sustaining an ongoing junior training program, building camaraderie among members, improving and growing the Dave Freeman Open and other events, but we have much to do to expand badminton opportunities at BPAC and in San Diego in general. I seek your feedback and support for continuing improvement, and thank you for your vote!

Dave Carton
I have been a member of SDBC since I was in high school and have always tried to do what was best for the sport and for the club both practically and financially. I am currently able to continue supporting the club and ask for your vote to retain membership on its board of directors.

Joe Young
I am very interested in becoming a Board member of the San Diego Badminton Club. I have been a Club member since 1984 and have served this Board in the past as Vice President and as a Board member at large. I know that Badminton in San Diego County is very important, as it is to all of Southern California. I also think that San Diego Badminton needs to get back into the game of being more involved with the rest of Southern California Badminton.

Some of the items that would help our club almost immediately is
(1) to have more of the general membership involved with providing input on the type of activities they would like to have at our club (club tournaments, jr. tournaments etc)
(2) have at least two people on the San Diego Rec Council or in attendance at each meeting
(3) a comprehensive coaching program for beginners and D level players
(4) coaching for aspiring tournament level players.

As an on-going and more out reaching plan I would like to see
(1) more contact with USAB and Southern California Badminton
(2) at least two other tournaments a year here in San Diego, maybe a Junior tournament and a B-C-D tournament.

I have been a member of SDBC for 10 years and have been a board member for 3 years. I always tried to do my best for our club and helped club mongering our member database and making new membership cards for our club member at previous years. I am currently able to continue supporting the club and ask for your vote to retain membership on its board of directors.

Murali M.
I would like to be a member of the board and seek your vote in the upcoming SDBC Board elections.

I have been closely involved in both decision making and implementation of those decisions for the last several years as a member of the board. I attend the board meetings on a regular basis and contribute actively to the discussions which presumably have been well received. I have also helped implement some of the decisions, such as enforcing rules of court sign up as part of the monitoring team. I have also played a significant part in organizing the annual Dave Freeman tournament, being the co-director at the last version. I have also volunteered as a coach to beginners.

I take pride in my organizing capacity as well as ability to work with others to solve problems. The most important responsibility as a board member is to be cognizant of how to make the club run to the benefit of ALL members, not limiting concerns to just one group. Given our limited court space, this can be challenging and affect some players adversely, such as very high level players and beginners. But it is important that the decisions be fair and implemented consistently.

I hope my interactions with all of you club members have left a mostly positive impression and have earned your trust to be re-elected.

Thank you for considering me as a member of the board.

Paul Miles
I am currently a board member, and I am seeking to be a board member for the new term. I am an avid and competitive player, and I have been actively playing and promoting the sport for more than 30 years. I would like to continue as a board member to assist with the various needs of the San Diego Badminton Club, and to help the board continue to promote a fair and positive influence overall for the sport of badminton.

I play and coach badminton for one reason and one reason only; badminton has saved my life – and I want to give back to badminton. Please vote for me to be on the board of directors so that I may continue to give.
